West Generator Battery Chargers
Battery chargers are a critical part of the generator system. The battery charger keeps the batteries at full charge. It keeps the generator ready, at all times, to start at any time. Over the last 10 years technology has produced smart chargers. Smart chargers turn themselves on and off so it does not cook the battery dry. West Generator recommends never to use maintenance free batteries on a generator, because you cannot add water. If the battery water level drops and the generator tries to start, there will be a spark between lead plates causing an explosion, which could cause damage to a machine or an individual.
Battery chargers come in different DC voltage, AC voltage, and amps. West
Generator recommends the battery charger be installed inside the transfer
switch to avoid influences from the environment, human error, or pests.
